Due to the success of our ASP Adjustable Support range, Wallbarn has developed the MEGAPAD, for higher clearances off the deck.
Designed to hold suspended paving slabs and timber decking, these support pads can reach a height of up to 620mm. This is useful where very large areas built to falls require a large range of cavity, or where voids are required to cover services, ducts, gulleys and steps.
They are extremely durable and secure as they are designed to be “locked” into place so there is no chance of slabs becoming unstable.
Drainage integrity is maintained as the rainwater flows between and below the slabs without interference with the top deck. Users will not be disturbed by ponding water.
They are designed to be easy to install and adjust. For complicated areas slabs can be installed and then final minor adjustments can be made when the slabs are in situ, without the need for constant re-setting. It is significantly faster, cheaper and easier to use this range of support pads for finishes than by trying to lay additional screeds or fix false floors.
The Mega Pads units are made up of fixed sections which fit into one another securely, and an adjustable section on the top end which holds the head piece.
Each section is locked into place using the “Multi-function Easy Key”. This ensures that none of the elements work their way loose over time and the upper surface is completely secure.
Edges and end-of-runs can be paved more effectively and securely with the Mega Pads system.
At 115mm high and above, the lug headpiece is removable, the support pad can be turned upside down and the lug head unit is placed onto the bottom of the base plate.
Since the base plate is 200mm in diameter, when turned upside down it exceeds the diameter of the (old) head piece; so the paving slab sits securely onto the plate and does not overhang the supporting columns. Therefore, the slabs can be butted up against the wall without problems.
MEGAPADS can be used for supporting timber decking as well as paving slabs.
Because the lug positioning units are removable, a flat headpiece can be achieved on which to balance timber joists.
The top layer of decking can then be fixed to the joist framework.
Slope Correctors
The base plates come with clip fixings to allow slope correctors to be fitted. These wedge shaped levellers help prevent tilting on the deck which has been built to falls and ensures the support pad, and its centre of gravity, keeps completely vertical; thus keeping the slabs on top perfectly stable.
They are available in 3 sizes: 1% or (0.57 °) ; 2% (1.11 °) ; and 3% (1.71 ° )

Wallbarn has developed a new generation of support pads for higher clearances, base plate levellers to prevent tilting, and locking sections to stop movement through the threads.
