Wallbarn stackable plastic support pads are manufactured from injection moulded high density polypropylene. They are available in two standard sizes, 14mm and 17mm high.
They are designed to stack on top of one another, where applicators wish to increase the height of the cavity at intervals – to work around gutter and service pipes, for example. Although lightweight, they are very tough, with a weight tolerance of 400kg per support pad.
They act as a guide when laying paving, ensuring uniform position. This saves a considerable amount of time in application and gives an attractive finish.
It also eliminates the requirement for bedding the paving slabs into mortar, reducing both mess and waste on the roof and the hassle of getting such materials onto the roof.
The weight on the roof deck is also reduced.
By suspending the paving slabs, they allow water to run away from the deck underneath. They also help to prevent the build-up of dirt and other material between the slabs.
This eliminates ponding on the upper surface of the roof or balcony.
Wallbarn stackable plastic support pads are made in four quadrants joined together with a small link. They can be easily snapped apart to produce segments of a half or a quarter.

This is useful for paving around corners and at the end of runs. This eliminates any wastage of support pads and gives a tidy finish to details, including when paving flush up to walls and parapets. |

The pads can be stacked up to five high to give a larger clearance where required. Providing the edges are sufficiently secured, different numbers of support pads can be laid in areas to create changes in levels or steps.
Further adjustments can be made using shims, which can both fit onto either the rubber or plastic support pads. Plastic shims for placing on the upper side of the support pads come in thicknesses of 1mm, 2mm and 3mm.

Wallbarn also offers a wedge shaped adjustable shim / slope corrector for laying under the support pad.
Adjustable in height from 3mm to 8mm thick, these rubber shims can be used singly – to take out any slope and achieve a flat upper surface - or stacked on top of one another (as shown below) and slid towards or apart from each other using the height markers. This can increase the height by up to 11mm.

Wallbarn stackable plastic support pads are ideal for paving to falls and levels since they are designed to stack on top of one another.
