Being made from TPE means that this is an inert material, so these extensions can be used to fit into TPE and PVC circular outlets. They are manufactured to be rigid, and are a simple tube shape with a flaring to the upper side, which will accommodate adhesive such as silicone when the end of the circular outlet is placed inside.
They have a slight cone shape, which helps when being inserted into the HDPE drainpipe. The two ribs on the side of the shank also help to ensure a tight, strong fit in the hole.
