Leaf Guards & Gravel Excluders

When roof outlets are installed and properly bonded to the waterproofing membrane, it is essential that the holes do not become clogged up, which would restrict the drainage and lead to standing water on the roof deck.

Wallbarn offers a number of leaf guards which help to ensure that water can drain efficiently. They can fit into all designs of circular outlets and connectors. They are compatible with all the different materials manufactured.

Wallbarn leaf excluders are made from zinc-plated iron, copper or stainless steel.

They are designed with 12 rods at the bottom which have a slightly serrated edge, so that the leaf guard can be inserted into the hole and the edges will grip onto the inside of the drain connector or outlet, which has a series of small ridges around the inside rim of the shaft.

They are UV resistant and will withstand all normal chemicals within the atmosphere.

They can be fitted onto TPE, EPDM or PVC outlets -Hyperlink here back to B roof outlets and collars page – easily without the need for fixings or bonding and can be removed and re-used without issue.

It is important to check the leaf excluders and clean out the area around them regularly.

Gravel excluders are also available for circular drain connectors and roof outlets where the area is covered with a gravel or pebble layer (such as border edges or shingle ballast in an inverted roof system), to prevent items entering and blocking the drain.

Made from polypropylene, it is equipped with a sturdy cage on the top with strong side bars and slats for the water to drain through.

We have two main designs – the Helix spoke (with three wide spokes) and the Spider fitting (with an angled four spoke design). Both these designs allow for installers to trim the spokes back easily using a sharp knife to fit the diameter of the outlet holes perfectly.
