EPDM drain connector with anti-smell SIPHON
Wallbarn has an ingenious product designed to improve the environment around drainage holes on roofs and podium decks. These products specifically target any unwanted smells, and are particularly useful on terraces or balconies, where greater pedestrian presence is anticipated, where the deck is used for dining, for example.
The SIPHON outlet is a variation on the design of the standard drain connector in EPDM which incorporates the perforated flange and spigot, but also contains a siphon mechanism to help eliminate bad smells and odours emitting from the drainpipe up to the roof or deck.

As water drains off the roof a small amount will be held in a well-type section, effectively sealing the drainpipe, in a similar way to a U bend beneath a sink unit. As the rainwater runs off the roof and into the outlet, the water level will rise over the internal lip and then flow into the drain pipe.

Where the roof deck is being used as leisure area, users can be assured that any “drain smells” are blocked out.
H is the height of the spigot or pipe
H1 is the height of the well – where the water will collect to block out the bad smells, and the excess flow into the pipe
D1 is the outer diameter of the flange or surrounding ring
D2 is the inner diameter of the pipe at the top
D3 is the inner diameter of the pipe at the bottom
D4 is the outer diameter of the well at the top and also the outer diameter of the leaf guard
D5 is the outer diameter pipe at the top

Applicators do not need to fasten separate leaf guards using the SIPHON outlet as it comes with integrated surface protection.
