An Insight Into Riverlight

A development comprising of six pavilions, rising in height, all with a North-South orientation, Riverlight contains 806 apartments ranging from suites to three-bedroom penthouses. In addition to such a wide range of accommodation, the development has a vibrant mix of leisure and retail facilities at street level.

Stunning Development

This is a stunning development in an area soon set to redefine the geography of London. The area has a new American Embassy (surely leading to a new international hub within close proximity of Westminster), the proposed extension of the Northern Line via a new Battersea Tube Station and the creation of Linear Park โ€“ a new green landscaped park spanning from Vauxhall to Battersea Power Station. This is a stunning development in a fantastic location, less than a mile from the Houses of Parliament and just a short hop across the river to Chelsea.

Our Role in the Project

We are very proud to have been working on St George Wharf for many years, and this project was the start of the regeneration of the area. The whole of this area is being developed with a series of major skyscrapers being planned or actually constructed now.

We are currently supplying support pads for paving and decking, chiefly for the balconies and terraces on the private blocks but we would like to extend our presence on the new developments with some of our ground products, including as theย geotextilesย for landscaping and soil stabilisation (it is an area with a high water table, being on old swamp land);ย Protecto-boardย for waterproofing membranes, temporary protection during the construction process, basement construction and tanking; Protecto-drain for tanking, basements and subterranean drainage and green roof products and services as there are a lot of roof gardens, ground landscaping and green roofs being planned.

Time for a bit of green roof TLC

Green roof maintenance: a quick guide

Our sedum trays need very little maintenance but there is no harm giving your green roof a little care at this time of year.
Green Roof
1. Pull out any weeds that may have got into the sedum.

  • only walk over the sedum if you canโ€™t reach certain areas from the edge
  • sedum squashes down under foot but bounces back in days
  • collect any chips or broken pieces of sedum and scatter them over the green roof, they will re-root into the substrate
Green Roof
2. Remove dead stalks and vegetation from gutters and outlets
Prevent clogging and minimize fire hazards
3. Feed the vegetation with some all-purpose fertiliser 4. Easily plug bare patches
Bare patches can occasionally appear due to foraging wildlife e.g. birds or squirrels. You can fill these in by pulling out small clumps of plants from areas with surplus vegetation and plugging them into the bare soil. These plants will usually take within days.
