    Decking Pedestals

This particular project that Wallbarn provided products for illustrates well how a small confined uneven roof space can be easily transformed into an area of beauty without interfering with the existing drainage facilities.

The client wanted to transform an otherwise unused piece of roof terrace into an area to be used by residents. The area was uneven in parts and housed various air conditioning units which had to remain in place. Access was also a major problem.

Using Wallbarn timber decking tiles and adjustable supports, the client was able to create an attractive space for recreational purposes.

The use of the adjustable supports enabled the timber decking tiles to be laid evenly and flush up to the base of the patio doors. The existing drainage outlet was not interfered with as the adjustable supports created clearance above the drain head.

The alternate rotational use of the tiles created an effective and attractive finish.

The existing air conditioning units were raised from the waterproofing membrane to rest on top of the timber decking tiles.

Having a high weight tolerance the adjustable supports were ideal for this.

By raising the units above the waterproofing membrane, this served to protect the membrane from damage by reducing any direct vibration from the unit to the membrane during operational use.
