These pedestals are designed for use on predominantly flat decks and are suitable for flat roofs, podium decks, balconies, terraces, and walkways that have a minimal fall for drainage (Mega Balance Pedestals are self levelling up to 5% (2.86° or 1 in 20 fall).
They should be placed on structural decks that are sufficiently strong enough to support the weight of the system. It is important to ensure that waterproofing membranes are adequately protected before the installation of paving or decking systems, to prevent point loading and/or puncturing of the membrane.
Pedestals are typically loose-laid without mechanical fixings or adhesive, allowing them to move independently from the structural building and prevent stress points.
However, if securing the pedestals to the subdeck is necessary (ensuring that waterproofing seals are not compromised), mechanical fixings can be installed through a series of holes moulded into the baseplates.

2) About The Mega Balance Pedestal
The Mega Balance range is engineered for projects requiring exceptional load tolerance and height flexibility. Each pedestal features a self-levelling head that compensates for slopes or falls of up to 5%, helping to achieve perfectly level paving or decking surfaces even on subfloors designed for drainage.
Every unit has an independently tested weight tolerance exceeding 3 tonnes, providing outstanding stability and performance across commercial and high-traffic areas. When used for paving, a key can be inserted through the joint to adjust the height while tiles or slabs remain in place, saving time during installation.
Mega Balance offers the widest height coverage of any adjustable pedestal system in the UK, using only three pedestal sizes and three extender components to reach build-ups from 25mm to 1025mm.
