Thinking of installing a green roof onto your property? If so, there is no better time than right now!
The pictures below highlight a recent installation of our M-Tray modular extensive green roof systems.
Looking extremely strong and healthy, the installation during the height of summer offers a major advantage over the method of using rolled-up sedum blankets, where the plants get damaged very easily.
What is the M-Tray?
M-TRAY is a ready-grown, fully established sedum, sedum-and-wildflower or wildflower-only green roof loaded into a portable tray, for easier installation of green roofs.
The major benefit of M-TRAY is flexibility. Getting to the roof is not a disruptive and costly process, which is a huge advantage over loose lay systems. It is simply not possible to loose lay roll-out systems layer-by-layer on some roof areas due to access restrictions. , M-TRAY can reach the roofs other systems cannot reach.

A recent project in High Wycombe where our M-Tray instant green roofing system was installed, looking lush, strong and healthy even in the height of the summer. No risk of rolled-up sedum blankets getting damaged during transit and installation, Wallbarn M- Trays ensure the plants are in the best possible condition.
Is your project suffering from problems relating to achieving larger clearances where regular, continual and irregular changes in height threshold cause issues?
The significant proportion of roofs are built-to-falls specifically for drainage purposes. Where the level between the door threshold and the drainage outlet is significant, where the roof falls in more than one direction, where large drops or channels are present, or where there are multiple and complicated changes in the fall and levels across the roof – then the ASP range of Adjustable Support Pedestals are the perfect tools.
Creating a Completely Flat Upper Paving Surface
Wallbarn’s ASP adjustable support pads have been designed to provide a telescopic stem which is wound up and down to achieve a completely flat upper paving surface. Changes to height can be made whilst the slab is in place. This saves a great deal of time and labour.
The rainwater runs between and under the slabs, so there is no standing water left on the surface. This improves health & safety as it makes the paved area less slippery.
Please Note – This is a suspended system – the weight of the slab holds everything in place.
Hardwearing, attractive areas can be created on what may have been left as exposed waterproofing membranes. Not only does this help protect potentially vulnerable areas and improve aesthetics, but it increases the yield of the building footprint significantly. These robust support pads can withstand concentrated loads of 400kg each, and the 200mm diameter base plate allows the weight to be evenly spread to avoid point loading onto the deck beneath.
ASP support pedestals are available from 35mm to 365mm high (the ASP EXTRA pads go to 380mm)
More roof and balcony designs incorporate a completely flat upper surface in order to utilise them more effectively as leisure areas. More attractive paving with spirit-level-flat finishes can be achieved using a much larger variety of different stone and slab shapes using our ASP supports.
