Heavy-duty megapad installation

Contractor AKC Europe Ltd was installing a jacuzzi for a client in Grove Park, Chiswick, where the terrace paving needed to run flush up to the edge of the jacuzzi.

The jacuzzi’s filter requires cleaning periodically throughout the year which means lifting a slab to gain access to the filter and then putting the slabs back. The slabs around the jacuzzi, therefore, needed some sort of elevated system of support.

AKC Europe decided that Wallbarn’s 915-1020mm Megapads were just what they were looking for.

The Megapads were positioned around the perimeter of the jacuzzi. The slabs were then laid on top, creating an elevated space beneath the slabs and giving the client access to clean or change the water filter whenever necessary.

Our Megapads are compatible with paving and decking systems too. The headpiece is the only difference between the two applications; specialised four-headed lug pieces for the corners of each paving slab for the paving Megapad, and a two-headed lug piece for a joist to run through it, for the decking Megapad.
