iJack connecting bracket

iJack has been designed to cope with thermal expansion of the Duro Excellence deck boards.

Composite deck boards expand along their length and installers need to ensure that the boards will not move to such an extent that they touch. Scenes such as those pictured here need to be avoided.

The boards in the picture above have been laid too close together and have buckled, ripping them out of their fixings and causing a major trip hazard. The boards have cracked and split in places due to the buckling, causing splinters and the risk of damage to bare feet.

The iJack connecting bracket is fitted to the underside of the Duro Excellence boards and creates a clear and regular spacing between each board.

When the boards expand the iJack keeps the integrity of the spacing, so the gap will not close. Both boards will move along the plane together. Because all iDecking fitting systems are shaped like runners, the boards can slide along within these fitting without any risk of coming out, so no more screws bursting out. The boards will move back to their original positions as they contract.

Installers need only to ensure that there is sufficient space at the edges of the decking to handle thermal expansion. Click here for a video demonstration of how iJack works.
