Wallbarn’s Mega Balance pedestal is a true innovation in paving and decking support. With the introduction of a universal head, this pedestal is now suitable for paving, decking, and any of Wallbarn’s aluminium joists/rails – eliminating the need for separate headpieces. This streamlined approach makes ordering and installation even more efficient, reducing complexity on site.

A Smarter Approach to Height Adjustments

The new Mini Mega Balance pedestal now covers heights from 25mm to 75mm, a range previously requiring three separate pedestals. This rationalised design simplifies specification, ordering, and stock holding.

With just three core pedestals and two extenders, the Mega Balance range now provides a height range from 25mm to 1025mm:

• 25mm to 75mm Mini Mega Balance
• 75mm to 125mm Mega Balance
• 125mm to 225mm Mega Balance
• 25mm Dome Extender (up to three can be used per pedestal)
• 100mm Tower Extender (up to eight can be used with the 125mm to 225mm Mega Balance)

Precision and Flexibility On-Site

The Dome Extender provides 25mm height increments and is available separately, allowing contractors to make last-minute height adjustments without delays. When initial height measurements prove inaccurate, these extenders ensure a quick and cost-effective solution.

For larger height adjustments, the 100mm Tower Extender is designed for use with the 125mm to 225mm Mega Balance, stacking up to eight units to reach a maximum height of 1025mm.

Strength, Stability, and Self-Levelling

Mega Balance pedestals offer unparalleled strength, with an independently tested weight tolerance of 31.68kN – approximately equivalent to over 3 tonnes per pedestal. The self-levelling head not only corrects subfloor imperfections but also counteracts slopes of up to 5% (2.86 degrees or a 1 in 20 fall), ensuring a stable and even surface for all applications. This high-performance design helps overcome on-site challenges that often arise at the last minute.

By reducing the number of pedestal types while maintaining full height coverage, Wallbarn has created a more efficient stockholding and specification process. Alongside the Mega Balance, we have also streamlined the Universal & Balance pedestal height ranges, making it easier for specifiers and contractors to select the right product without excess stock or complexity.
