Wallbarn is partnering with FireDeck to deliver ExaDeck, a premium fire-rated decking system combining FireDeckโs Class A ceramic boards with Wallbarnโs non-combustible substructure. Designed for new builds and refurbishments, it ensures full compliance with safety regulations while offering a durable, beautiful, precision-engineered finish.
Why ExaDeck ?
The ExaDeck system includes a double-rectified ceramic board, engineered for durability and sustainability. This hard-wearing surface is manufactured from recycled materials and is itself fully recyclable, making it an environmentally responsible choice. It is supported by a high-strength rail substructure, weight-bearing adjustable pedestals, and precision-designed fixings, ensuring a stable, movement-free decking solution.

Designed exclusively for use with Wallbarnโs Aluminium Box Rail and I-Plus Rail, they provide a secure, non-combustible foundation that meets Class A1 fire safety standards (BS EN 13501-1:2018), ensuring full compliance for high-rise and commercial projects.

The Spreader Plate for the MetalPad Ex Pedestal is designed to aid stability and load distribution. Manufactured from galvanised steel and coated with Zintec 200, it offers excellemt resistance to rust and corrosion, ensuring long-term durability in any environment. By dispersing the weight coming down from the pedestals, it helps prevent excessive point loading, making it particularly beneficial for vulnerable subfloors such as insulation layers or waterproof membranes.
Beyond protecting subfloors, the Spreader Plate significantly increases the weight tolerance of the MetalPad Ex Pedestal, boosting its capacity from 5 tonnes to 7 tonnes. This added strength makes it ideal for high-traffic commercial areas and projects with demanding structural requirements. Whether used to reinforce weight-bearing performance or safeguard sensitive subfloors, the Spreader Plate provides an essential layer of protection and reliability.


Joist Hangers
For use on existing steel structure on Retro-Fit Projects
Wallbarnโs Joist Hangers have been developed specifically for retrofit and refurbishment projects, providing a strong, reliable connection between existing steel or timber structures and the ExaDeck substructure. Designed to accommodate Wallbarnโs 60mm-wide Box and I-Plus Rails, these joist hangers ensure a precise, stable fit, making them the ideal solution for installations where a pre-existing steel framework needs to be utilised.
The joist hangers are secured directly to the steel structure, allowing the aluminium joists to be fixed in place from the side using screws. This method ensures a rigid, movement-free substructure, preventing loosening over time and enhancing the long-term integrity of the ExaDeck system. By creating a strong and stable connection without the need for invasive modifications, these joist hangers simplify installation while ensuring the decking system remains secure, level, and fully compliant with fire safety regulations.

M8 Wing Nut
For easy & quick connections
The M8 Wing Nut Kit, made from stainless steel, is a Class A fire-rated component designed for quick, tool-free installation with the MetalPad Ex Pedestal. It securely fastens Wallbarnโs aluminium joists to the pedestal head, creating a stable, non-combustible substructure for ExaDeck installations.
This hand-tightened connector allows for easy height and positioning adjustments during installation, ensuring precise alignment before final tightening. In addition to securing joists to pedestals, the M8 Wing Nuts are also used on stainless steel brackets to join I-Plus Beams together, whether end-to-end or at right angles, reinforcing the framework for a strong, durable, and fire-rated decking system

W Clip
Class A Hidden Fixing
The W Clip is a concealed fixing system for deck boards, crafted from electrocoated aluminium to achieve a Class A fire rating, making it a key component of Wallbarnโs fully fire-rated decking system.
Designed and developed by Wallbarn, it features a black finish and seamlessly secures deckboards with a central side-milling profile, ensuring a clean, uninterrupted surface. By locking boards firmly to the aluminium joist, the W Clip prevents movement, loosening, or failure over time, enhancing long-term safety and stabilityโparticularly in public and high-traffic environments.
The 5-6mm gap between the decking boards produced by using the W Clip, is significantly smaller than other systems, creating a clean and beautiful lines. To maintain this refined look, the specially designed screws feature a narrow diameter head, allowing them to fit securely within the gap without scratching the board edges. Made from reinforced steel, the screw heads also prevent furring, ensuring a stunning and luxurious appearance.
