Wallbarn is Bringing Adjustable Pedestals To Grand Designs Live 2017!

Adjustable Pedestals allow designers and builders to create hard landscaping areas on structural surfaces without compromising the waterproofing membrane beneath.

Designed for use where larger clearances are required, continual and irregular changes in height threshold occur and for more high-end finishes.

A Suspended System

Most roofs are built-to-falls for drainage purposes. Where the level between the door threshold and the drainage outlet is significant, where the roof falls in more than one direction, where large drops or channels are present, or where there are multiple and complicated changes in the fall and levels across the roof – then the ASP range of Adjustable Support Pedestals are the perfect tools.

This is a suspended system – the weight of the slab holds everything in place.

Wallbarn’s ASP adjustable support pads are designed with a telescopic stem which is wound up and down to achieve a completely flat upper paving surface. Changes to height can be made whilst the slab is in place. This saves a great deal of time and labour.

The rainwater runs between and under the slabs, so there is no standing water left on the surface. This improves health & safety as it makes the paved area less slippery.

Suspending paving or timber decking onto pedestals greatly improves the performance of the deck as it provides free drainage to the terrace, as the rainwater runs between and beneath the upper surface, reducing the risk of a slip hazard. The deck beneath is ventilated and, although the actual deck surface will be built to a fall, running towards the drainage outlet; by turning the telescopic threads on the Adjustable Pedestals, craftsmen can produce a completely flat upper surface which gives a greater sense of luxury to the area.

The slabs are placed onto the pedestals and the threads twisted so that they “bite” at the right height. Fine adjustments can be made to achieve spirit-level accuracy.

This system of laying slabs is much faster than having to set the stone slabs into mortar. The weight on the roof is reduced and a uniform paving guide is given via the straight paving lugs fitted to the headpieces, further helping installers.

Adjustable Pedestals can also be used to create timber decking areas on structural decks. The timber is lifted off the surface so will not be subject to standing water. This significantly increases the lifespan of decking projects.
